Overview

‘Tourism in the 21st century will not only be the world’s largest industry, it will be the largest by far that the world has ever seen.’ (World Tourism Organisation, 2020 Vision).

Designed in partnership with employers, the course gives you a solid theoretical and practical understanding of travel and tourism management, enabling you to progress to higher level studies or directly into industry. You will have the chance to apply what you learn to your own workplace experience.

  • UK Tourism

  • Technology and the Tourist Experience
  • Industry Related Project
  • Contemporary Issues within Airport and Airline & Tourism Sectors
  • Global Tourism – Emerging and Developing Destinations
  • Events – Led Tourism

Entry requirements

You must have achieved 48 UCAS tariff points from an appropriate Level 3 (NVQ 3, BTEC Award or A Level).

You are also required to have GCSE passes at grade 4 (C) or equivalent in English and maths.

Teaching methods will include lectures, seminars, online tutorials and virtual learning.

You will gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the travel and tourism industry as well as a range of practical, professional and key transferable skills required for graduate employability and lifelong learning.

You are expected to work independently and responsibly throughout the duration of your course. Your commitment is vital for success.

You will be assessed through reports, essays, projects, case studies, exams, individual or group presentation, group activity and a personal development portfolio.

Fees payable directly to Middlesbrough College, £6,300 per year.
