MC Theatre & Music Studios
The MC Theatre is a stunning 142 seat performance venue based in the Middlesbrough College main building. Our performing arts students have the benefit of performing to live audiences throughout their course.
The theatre boasts a 24 channel audio mixing desk with Q lab software, a 96 channel lighting desk with 60 lighting fixtures inducing 8 moving light fixtures and 1 follow spot. There is also 2 dressing rooms and variety of microphones.
Middlesbrough College also offers state-of-the-art music and performance facilities featuring 3 recording studios and 5 control rooms.
Students can access music studios that are equipped with industry standard Avid Pro Tools HDX systems (MacPro hosted) and Avid S6 and C|24 control surfaces offering 256 simultaneous audio tracks at 96 kHz and incredibly low monitoring latency of 0.7 ms. Studios also offer Pro Tools HD, Ableton Live Suite, a host of 3rd Party Plug-in Processors by brands such as McDSP, Sonnox, Slate Digital, Celemony and iZotope, as well as Genelec and PMC monitoring.

The theatre is available for various events including awards evenings, ceremonies, competitions, theatrical performances, seminars, training days, launches and corporate events. If you are looking to hold smaller events, the theatre can offer a reduced seating of 86 seats.
