Subject Showcase Events
Middlesbrough College has a course for you and is here to support and help you every step of the way.
When you have applied for a course at Middlesbrough College, you will be contacted by our Admissions team to invite you to a Subject Showcase Event. This is a good chance to visit the College and meet your tutors, have a tour of the area, take part in mini taster or workshop, and find out more about the courses you are going to study.
It also allows us to get to know when your career goals are and helps us work out if your chosen course is right for you.
It’s important that you attend this event to secure your place at College!
What happens at a Subject Showcase Event?
Our Subject Showcase Events typically take place between 5pm – 6.30pm so you will have plenty of time to head to the College after school.
You (and your parent or guardian if they are accompanying you) will be directed to one of our lecture theatres to sign in and where our Curriculum leaders tell you all about the wider curriculum area covering all the courses within it. You will find out about uniforms required, work placements, potential careers the courses can lead to, and what student support services we have available.
Following this, you will split into your chosen courses and meet your tutor. You may be given a tour of the workshops and facilities where you would be studying, and take part in an activity to give you more of an insight into the course. This will be the perfect opportunity to ask any subject specific questions you might have, and have a 1:1 chat with the tutor to discuss any concerns you might have or extra support you may need.
