Attending your taster day at Middlesbrough College is important because they are designed to show you what College life has to offer and to help you make the best decision for your future. You will learn so much about the College and what it’s like to study here. It really is an invaluable experience, so don’t waste your opportunity!

Still need convincing?

Here’s 5 reasons not to miss out on your taster day:

1) Try different courses

Taster days are your opportunity to figure out if the course that you have applied for is really the right fit for you. This is especially important for those of you who are wanting to study A Levels as you will get the chance to try multiple subjects before settling on your final three.

There’s nothing worse than starting a course and realising you should be studying something else, and then having to catch up with the rest of your classmates. Don’t let that be you this September, figure it all out at our taster days and have a stress-free summer!

2) Get careers advice

If, when you attend our taster days, you find that the course you originally applied for is not for you, then don’t panic, we’ll be there to help. Our dedicated careers team will be on hand to provide free and impartial advice to anyone who is unsure about their options. Please also remember that you do not have to commit to a course until enrolment, which will take place after you receive your results in August.

3) Explore our wonderful campus

Here at Middlesbrough College, we have a very large campus and so many amazing facilities to see. The taster days are an excellent opportunity for you to find your bearings around the College so that come September you’ll already know your way around.

Depending on which courses you are trying on the taster days, you may even get the chance to see some of our amazing facilities and equipment in action, such as our STEM centre or MC Digital.

4) Meet your teachers and tutors

Attending your taster session will allow you to get a feel for the course and you will also meet some of your potential teachers and tutors. These are the people that will be supporting you with your learning throughout your time at Middlesbrough College, so it is wonderful opportunity for you to make a great first impression.

5) Make friends for life

We know that coming into a new environment like Middlesbrough College can be daunting, especially when that involves meeting lots of new people, but that’s why we have our taster sessions. It is an excellent opportunity for you to meet other potential students and start to build friendships that can last a lifetime and, come September you will feel much more confident about coming to College.
