MC Click Laptop Loan Scheme

As a Microsoft Showcase College, students will need to bring their own laptop/device to college each day to access their learning materials.

Most student who do not have their own personal device can borrow a laptop under our MC Click scheme for the duration of their studies, for a one-off configuration and maintenance fee of £50. This fee will be covered by the college bursary for eligible students. The payment deadline is 31/12/2025.

Students are able to keep their MC Click device at the end of their time at college, providing this is at least 2 years, otherwise it must be returned at the end of their studies.

Whilst many students choose to bring their own device to college, our laptop loan scheme, MC Click, is designed to support those eligible students that are without a personal device.

MC Click loan laptops are available for most 16-19 years old students on a Level 1, 2 or 3 study programme, HE students on Level 4 and Level 5 programmes (excluding Qualls AAT and NEBOSH) and Access to HE Diploma students (excluding distance learning). For those who are eligible, the devices will be distributed at enrolment. This device remains the property of Middlesbrough College and must be used in accordance with the terms of the laptop loan agreement at the time of collecting the device.

Financial Commitment

A one-off, non-refundable £50 configuration and maintenance payment is required to access the laptop loan scheme. This fee covers the initial configuration and continued maintenance of the device during the period of the loan. All pre-loaded software required for the students course is included in the fee. Please be aware that non-payment by the payment deadline will result in the laptop being blocked and recovered.

Students qualifying for a bursary will be able to use their bursary fund to cover the cost of this fee and this will be taken automatically by Middlesbrough College. Students who are not eligible for the college bursary but need financial support can make a special request via Student Services.
