The programme has been developed in partnership with audio-visual businesses including the Tate Gallery, Visavvi, Shure, The AV Cultural Forum, and Wellcome Trust.
Audio-visual material and associated technical skills are a fundamental and increasingly significant component at the cinema, on television, at music venues, theatres, festivals, conferences, and for corporate, charity and public sector organisations.
The live audio-visual industry reports a shortage of technically competent staff needed to plan and deliver events involving sound, light, and video projection. There is also a shortage of site-specific audio-visual technicians permanently based in institutions.
