A group of Middlesbrough College students have gained employment after signing up for pre-employment training.
Rhys Thurlwell successfully gained a Business Administration Apprenticeship after signing up for our STEPs programme. The STEPs programme involves 6 weeks of bespoke training with continued, ongoing support with a dedicated Progression Mentor.
Rhys said; “The STEPS course helped me look for opportunities that I was unaware of, and offered me support every bit of the way. The support from the staff was exceptional, any issues, be it personal or educational, the staff were always on hand to offer support.”
“Thanks to the mentoring on the STEPs course I have now secured an Apprenticeship in Level 3 Business Administration which I am thoroughly enjoying!”
Alongside STEPs we also offer a pre-apprenticeship programme which works to help you stand out to employers. We work with you on communication skills, team building, CV writing and interview skills to help you succeed.
At the end of the programme you will be guaranteed an interview with Northern Skills Group and any relevant employer who might be recruiting at that time.
Mackenzie Garbutt secured a Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship after completing our pre-apprenticeship programme.
Mackenzie said; “The pre-apprenticeship programme gave me the confidence to not only apply for an apprenticeship but also to go into the interview. Fiona was a great mentor and she gave me the confidence I needed to succeed.”
“I would recommend the pre-apprenticeship programme especially if you are feeling anxious about making that transition into employment. The team take you through the whole process and prepare you for every possible situation so you know what to expect.”
