Middlesbrough College’s Process Technology Skills Bootcamp is helping professionals in the process industries take their careers to the next level!

The Level 3 qualification is designed to prepare students for a variety of roles in the process industries, including the chemical, pharmaceutical, metals, and oil and gas sectors.

Rob Jacques, Chris Borton and Nathan Swan work together at Greenergy, a leading supplier of waste-based renewables and transportation fuels. Supported by their employer, the team completed the Level 3 Process Technology Skills Bootcamp, opening the door for future career progression and personal growth.

Rob Jacques, a Shift Process Operator, said: “The course was really good. I’ve already applied some of the modules to my work, and it’s made a big difference.”

Nathan Swan, also a Shift Process Operator, said: “I previously studied the Level 2 course at Middlesbrough College, so I was pleased when Greenergy put me forward for the Level 3 qualification. The course content has been interesting, and the flexible sessions made it easier to balance work and study.”

Chris Borton, a Tank Farm Operator, was new to Process Technology but found the course eye-opening: “A lot of the material was new to me, but it’s directly relevant to my role and has really helped my understanding of the industry.”

Joining them on the Skills Bootcamp was Jack Dalton, a Day Process Operator at Seqnes – a leader in pharmaceutical solutions and speciality ingredients.

He said: “I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to progress. It was challenging at times, but if you put the work in, you’ll definitely see the benefit at the end.”

All four students praised Middlesbrough College for its fantastic support throughout the 16-week course.

Rob said: “The College has been great and I’m very happy to have completed the course here – I wish I’d gone to a college like this when I was 16!”

Jack said: “Our course tutor, Jamie, has been spot on. I couldn’t have asked for better support.”

Jamie Hunter, Course Lecturer, said: “This cohort has demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to their studies. The high standard of work produced is a clear reflection of the time and effort invested, contributing greatly to the overall success of the course.”
