Jane Curran

Jane applied for her role as a Purchase Ledger Clerk after seeing the job advertised in the local paper. Fast forward 16 years and she’s still enjoying working for Middlesbrough College!

Jane said “I have been at the college just over 16 years. When I first started I was responsible for producing all the purchase orders for goods and services required by the college.

“I love my job; my favourite part is knowing that I am contributing to the student experience.

“My advice to anyone who is thinking of applying to Middlesbrough College for a job role is to go for it! You never know where it may lead you.”

As well as her role in finance, Jane is also an ambassador for staff members with disabilities.

Jane said “I’m delighted to be an ambassador for colleagues with disabilities. Lin Barry from Workforce Development has been very supportive in getting staff together to discuss the obstacles disabled staff face and how we can overcome them. I’m looking forward to developing this role further in the future.”

Outside of work, Jane enjoys exploring the arts including writing poetry and singing- you might spot her at a performance of the Middlesbrough Town Hall Community Choir so keep an eye and an ear out for her!
