Admissions Team Leader

“I studied BSc Computer Science at Teesside University and gained a 2:1 before completing my teacher training through Carmel College. After completing my training, I then taught a number of subjects at Trinity Catholic College and Acklam Grange including Computing and Health and Social Care.

“After working in teaching for a couple of years, I decided that I wanted a career change and came across the opportunity to work in the Admissions Team at Middlesbrough College.

“I’ve worked here for nearly 3 years now, after joining in November 2018 as an Admissions Assistant –  in June this year I progressed into the Admissions Team Leader role.

“My favourite elements of my job include working with the most amazing team, collaborating with other staff in the College and helping our applicants through the admissions process.

“A particular career highlight was getting the Admissions Team Leader job role. There are always opportunities available within the College to progress your career.

“Middlesbrough College is a great place to work – there is a friendly atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and supportive.

“I had some struggles with my health, in particular my eyesight whilst being here and have been so well supported by the team, in particular Ciara McKeown.

“In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, going out for food with friends and family, playing with my new puppy, and binge watching a good television series. I also love going for a Costa!”
