Overview

This course will help you to develop the skills needed to progress in education, training or employment.

You will build the skills essential for employment including developing a positive and flexible attitude, appropriate behaviour and clear communication skills.

The course is also for those who are interested in art & design. You be will be given the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as: mosaic tiling, 2D and 3D art, silk painting, photography, glass painting, knitting, crocheting, painting and sketching.

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications required.

You will be continuously assessed using a variety of different methods.

Middlesbrough College offers a range of Level 1 programmes that you may be able to progress on to.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Creative Arts

Explore Creative Arts

As a creative arts student, you'll benefit from Middlesbrough College's great facilities and high quality equipment and materials. This includes a photography studio and darkroom, large Apple iMac suite, spacious workshops and print and textiles studio. Students get involved in a range of projects to develop their creative skills including fashion shows, designing posters for theatre performances and the end of year art show.
