Gillian was appointed to the Governing Body in July 2025.
Gillian is a Chartered Accountant with a Post Graduate Diploma in Charity Accounting & Financial Management, has worked in both the public and voluntary sectors, and has extensive experience of overseeing corporate functions including finance, IT, governance and human resources.
Gillian is dedicated to working in organisations that serve local communities. Her career has included roles at Tees Valley Training and Enterprise Council and the Learning and Skills Council, and she has been finance director of two charities, Tees Valley Leisure and Mental Health Matters.
Previously, Gillian has served on the governing bodies of Prior Pursglove College, Unite Limited (a mediation charity) and Tees Mutual (a community-focused mutual insurer offering life insurance and savings policies) for whom she also held the position of chair of the Audit & Risk Committee.
