19-year-old Tom Seale battled a serious disease to secure BTEC qualifications at Middlesbrough College.
The budding video games journalist suffers from biotin-thiamine-responsive basal ganglia disease – a disorder that attacks the nervous system.
Tom had completed one year at college before the disease struck and left him unable to walk or write.
With specialist care he got back on his feet and re-joined college after just one year out.
Now he’s achieved BTEC passes in Engineering and Sport, as well as Distinction, Merit, Merit in a Video Games Design BTEC.
Tom, from Middlesbrough, explained: “The College has been really good in supporting me. They provided me with extra time and support in classes."
“I have help from Neuropartners’ Amy Webb who has been brilliant at helping me through.”
