"I'd done a lot of research when looking for an access course, and Middlesbrough College stood out from others in the area. A friend had also recently completed it and said I should enrol.

I'd been out of education for a long time, so it was quite daunting coming back into college, but I very quickly settled into the rhythm of it all.

The course definitely prepared me for university - I felt like I had a head start to my classmates who hadn't completed an access course.

My teachers were amazing and always willing to discuss any questions you have. 

Although it took some adjusting balancing my studies around family life, it was so worth it!

After completing my degree at Teesside University studying Operating Practice I now work at James Cook Hospital as an Operating Department Practitioner
