"After moving from Turkey to the UK in 2009, I was left needing further qualifications due to my Economics degree not being recognised when applying for jobs.
"I received a brochure from Middlesbrough College in the post which highlighted the wide range of course on offer, and with me having an interest in fabrication and welding, I decided to register for an apprenticeship.
"Balancing working 23 hours alongside my qualification was challenging and times, but so rewarding. I worked my way from level 2 through to level 3 alongside a local company, and after 4 years I was equipped with the experience and knowledge for the next step.
"I have since progressed to Lionweld Group where I am working as a welding co-ordinator. I love my role and I definitely feel my time at Middlesbrough College helped to prepare me for where I am today.
The facilities and tutors are fantastic - I would recommend the College to anyone!"
