English Literature (A Level) – Level 3

Course overview
The study of A Level Literature opens you up to a world of profound exploration; it is a study of everything from the human psyche and experience to profound social changes throughout history.
On this course, you will read a wide range of engaging novels, plays and poetry from a variety of genres, gaining an understanding of the historical contexts of these texts as well as an overview of different literary movements throughout history. You will also develop your analytical skills and understanding of the technical terminology used in the study of literature, gaining a deeper appreciation for texts and their profound impact on society.

A Level students will be based in MC6, a modern, vibrant environment which promotes independent learning and study. The centre bridges the gap between school and university, with specialist classrooms and laboratories and open plan study and social spaces.
