Meet Max Croft, Level 3 T Level Digital Production Design and Development student!
Max has always had a passion for computing and software development, making the T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development at MC Digital the perfect choice for him.
“From a young age, I was the go-to person for fixing tech. People would always come to me to ask how to fix things and how things work – I was always using technology. Then, when I was nine or ten, I started learning basic HTML coding, and it all went from there.”
“I’d always excelled in computing over academics, and I knew that I wanted to do something hands-on where I could gain work experience and learn real industry skills. The T Level in Digital Production, Design & Development was the perfect fit.”
“The course has really prepared me for industry and the world of work. It’s given me a solid understanding of how employers structure projects and the different processes businesses follow. Every company does things differently, but having this foundational knowledge has given me a huge advantage.”
A key part of the T Level is its industry placement, and Max completed his 45-day work experience with MCD Systems in Redcar, a company specialising in digital services and software development
“During my work placement, I helped build a new website and keep it updated. I was really keen to learn about new technologies, so it was great that they gave me this project.”
Max did so well during his work placement that MCD Systems have offered to keep him on to complete a degree apprenticeship when he finishes his course at Middlesbrough College – and Max can’t wait to get started!

Beyond his studies, Max has also been part of the College’s Basketball Academy, balancing his passion for tech with competing in national leagues outside of college.
With his degree apprenticeship lined up, Max is excited for the future. His placement at MCD Systems has allowed him to apply classroom learning to real projects, boosting his confidence and career prospects. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Max!
