Overview

This course is a direct follow on from the 2D CAD course at level 2. You must provide evidence of the completion of the 2D CAD course.
You will study advanced drawing commands to produce isometric drawings, complex engineering drawings, detailed printed outputs and complex blocks and attributes.

Using AutoCAD in a 2D environment

- Use a layering system and different line types
- Use and define blocks or libraries
- Produce isometric drawings
- Define and use an adjustable co-ordinate system
- Use complex dimensioning routines
- Use drawing spaces
- Produce hard copies
- Use a means of pre-command object selection in order to carry out editing processes
- Change the properties of a number of drawn entities
- Edit blocks/symbols and hatched areas
- Modify continuous lines formed by a connected sequence of lines or arcs
- Use a method to remove unused items and rename other items logically

Entry requirements

Experience of using CAD at Level 2.

2 practical assignments and a short answer written test.
