Brickwork – Level 3

Modules offered may vary.

Modules will include:

• Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction
• Principles of Organising, Planning and Pricing Construction Work
• Constructing Fireplaces and Chimneys
• Repair and Maintain Masonry Structures
• Constructing Radial and Battered Brick work

September – June

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 2 vocational qualification.

You will be assessed through coursework, practical and unit based examinations and an online multi-choice exam.

You can progress to a higher education course in construction, or a construction apprenticeship standard in bricklaying, if employment is gained with a bricklaying company. You can also progress directly into employment.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into further education.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

All full-time students will be offered a number of options to secure at least 30 hours of meaningful work experience during the year. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher-level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at University.
