Why should you choose an Access course?
We know that times are tough right now, but there is no better time to invest in your future.
Access courses are a great stepping stone to degree level study and to the career you want. It’s never too late to start!
You may think that getting back into education will be a burden on your finances and your time, but we’re here to tell you different.
Lower costs than University
Foundation years at University can often cost as much as a full degree year, which is £9250!
But if you choose to study an Access course instead, it could be much cheaper. Typically, the fees sit between £3000 and £4000, but if you are between the ages of 19 and 23 and this will be your first full Level 3 course then it will be FREE!
If you are over the age of 24, then you will have to pay the fees, but there are loans available, such as the advanced learner loan, but don’t worry you won’t have to pay it straight back. The loan will only be repayable once you earn over £27,295. Better yet, if you go onto complete your degree then the loan will not be repayable at all, and your Access course will be FREE!
Works around your life
Our Access courses are flexible, part-time courses that take place over the course of a year from September to June. You’ll typically be studying in College for a maximum of three days per week. Many of our courses offer daytime and evening options so that your learning can fit around your lifestyle and commitments.
We even offer a distance learning Access to Health course, so that you can learn from the comfort of your own home!
Designed with you in mind
Access courses are designed to get adults, who have been out of education for a while, back to learning.
Access courses are for everyone, so don’t worry if you think you may not have the qualifications. In order to get onto an Access course, you must be working towards getting a Level 2 qualification in maths and English. If you don’t have your maths and English qualifications we can help, check out our Functional Skills courses. You can study these alongside your Access course or you could get started before you begin your Access course with us in September. Click here to find out more.
If you don’t feel ready to begin the Access diploma, we have Pre-Access courses available, which will help you find your feet, before embarking on your higher education journey.
Long term career satisfaction
The point of an Access course is to be a stepping stone into future education and eventually a career that you love. If you have always dreamed of getting the career you want, look no further.
Gaining a higher level of education will open doors for you. Not only is the average salary for graduates typically higher than those of non-graduates, but studying at our University centre will help you to develop your transferable skills and make you more employable!
Our options at HE
Once you have completed your Access Course with us, you can head to University or you can move onto one of our Higher Education courses, which, much like our access course, offer a more flexible and cheaper alternative to University.
