T Level – Accounting – Level 3

The T Level is split into 2 components.

Core Components:

• The business environment
• Careers with the accounting professions
• Regulation
• Professionalism and ethics/equality, diversity and inclusion
• Security and risk
• Professional services
• Fundamentals of law
• Fundamentals of financial accounting
• Technology
• Data driven innovation/analytics and design thinking
• Research skills
• Project/change management and administration
• Fundamentals of financial accounting 2

The above content is externally assessed via exams and a 15hr employer set project.

Occupational specialist component:

• Produce and analyse a trial balance
• Prepare primary financial statements
• Analyse business performance and present results
• Provide support to tax and audit functions
• Prepare computations for payroll

September – June

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 2 vocational qualification and/or five GCSEs at grade 5 (C) including maths and English.

If you don’t have the entry requirements for our T Levels, don’t worry. Ask our team about the T Level foundation course.

Content is externally assessed via exams and a 15hr employer set project.

After completing your T Level, you can progress to University, an apprenticeship, or employment.

Job roles open to you once you complete your T Level could include:

• Assistant Accountant
• Payroll Junior
• Payroll Clerk
• Accountancy Apprenticeships

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

All full-time students will be offered a number of options to secure at least 10 days of meaningful work experience during the year. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at university.
