Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship - Level 4

This role is to support engineers in developing, producing, or testing products to meet customer specifications. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data, making decisions, solving problems, and updating documentation. Ensuring quality, reliability, and cost adherence is crucial. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and external parties, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, and demonstrating compliance to auditors.

The work environment spans office and manufacturing settings, with interactions among teams, customers, suppliers, and regulators. Accountability includes ensuring product quality, safety, and timely delivery, reporting to managers, using judgment and technical knowledge, and contributing to process improvements.

Support budgeting, costing, and financial planning
Use software such as CAD, data analytics tools, and databases

Employment in a suitable role for the chosen apprenticeship is essential. Northern Skills will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible but we advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to actively seek employment for themselves.

Learners aged 16-18 should have achieved Grade 4 or above (or Level 2 Functional Skills) in English and maths.

Learners aged 19+ should have achieved Grade4 or above (or Level2 Functional Skills) in English and maths.

Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment. If proof cannot be produced or you do not meet these entry requirements, then applicants will be invited to complete an initial assessment prior to acceptance. An interview will take place.

The way you apply for an apprenticeships is slightly different than applying for a full-time course. There are many great apprenticeships programmes on offer however to start on a programme, there also needs to be a suitable employer who has a vacancy or is happy to take you on as an apprentice.
