Overview

The Access to HE Diploma aims to support adult learners in your return to education and progression towards higher education study at University. The course is designed to provide a good grounding in the fundamentals of business organisation, management and leadership, as well as wider contexts and specialisms such as finance, marketing and entrepreneurship.

You will study a range of modules that will make up 60 credits.

Typically 3 days a week, 9am-3pm.

Entry requirements

You must complete a successful interview and be working at a Level 2 English and maths.

You will be assessed on a continuous basis, both practically and theoretically throughout the course.

Assessment methods will be flexible and creative and will echo those used in higher education.

This qualification will provide you with a range of transferable skills so that you can progress onto a range of our HE courses.

Past students have progressed onto our foundation degree in Business Management and have then completed the top-up degree. Some students have chosen more specialised degrees such as the Hospitality Management programme and the Airport and Airline Management course.

Successful completion of the Diploma can also lead to a Degree, Foundation Degree and HND programmes in a number of subject areas including business studies, statistics, accountancy, financial services, law, management and a range of part-time degree programmes.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course. 

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances. 

Level 3 Entitlement: If you are aged 19 - 23 on the start date of the course and this is your first full Level 3 qualification the course is free. Advanced Learner Loan: If you are aged 19-23 and this is not your first full Level 3 qualification or you are aged 24 or over on the start date of the course, you will have to pay fees. However, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to fund all or part of the fee. The Advanced Learner Loan will not be repayable by students who progress into Higher Education and complete their degree.

Please note any fee shown excludes any additional costs to learners for any necessary equipment, materials, uniforms or any visit/residential that learners are required to participate in.
