Travel, Tourism and Aviation Pathways Explained

Aviation

Aviation Operations is all about how airports and airlines work behind the scenes to make sure flights run smoothly and safely.

Imagine everything that happens from the moment you arrive at the airport to when the plane takes off; checking in, loading luggage, guiding planes on the ground, keeping passengers safe, and making sure flights are on time. That’s aviation operations!

If you study aviation operations, you’ll learn how airports and airlines are run, how to help passengers and keep them safe, how flights are planned and scheduled, what to do when things go wrong like delays or bad weather, and how to work as part of a team in a busy airport environment.

Studying aviation operations can help you get jobs like:

  • Passenger service agent – helping people check in and board flights
  • Ramp agent – helping load luggage and guide planes on the ground
  • Flight dispatcher – helping plan flight routes and schedules
  • Airport security – keeping passengers and staff safe
  • Air traffic services assistant – helping manage planes in the sky and on the ground
