Honorary Governor

Andrew was appointed as a Governor for Middlesbrough College on 9 July 2012 and stepped down on the 15 October 2015 to take up the role of Honorary Governor.

Andrew has previously been a Middlesbrough Councillor 1995- 1999 and a Governor of Abingdon Primary school in Middlesbrough for 15 years until 2010.

Former Chair of the Davison Trust in Middlesbrough, a charity devoted to alleviating the needs of children with special needs and their families.

Currently holds position for Chair of the Teesside branch of Headway, the Brain Injury Association which assists brain injury survivors and their carers.

Andrew is a solicitor by profession and was a partner with Thompsons Solicitors, the UK’s largest Trade Union law firm before joining the House of Parliament as Labour MP for Middlesbrough and was re-elected in 2015 with an increased majority.

Andrew has over 25 years personal experience in the field of personal injury litigation and has also acted for hundreds of members of the British Armed Forces throughout the world.

Founder member of the Royal British Legion Solicitors Group.

Former Chair and Secretary of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers Military Special Interest Group.
