Your future matters to us, which is why, as well as supporting you academically, we also want to ensure you are ready for work after studying with us.
During your time at MC6, you will benefit from:
- A Dedicated MC6 Work Placement Co-ordinator who’ll support you in undertaking working experience or work-related activity.
- The Career Ready Programme, designed to help young people connect with employers. As part of this, you can apply for a paid internship to help invaluable, hands-on experience.
- Our excellent relationships with local, regional and national employers. We’re committed to helping you find relevant and high-quality work experience, helping you stand out from the crowd on your applications for future university courses, training and jobs!

Why is work experience important?
A work placement will help you stand out from the crowd on applications for courses, training and jobs. It can also help you decide what you want to pursue in your future career or at University!
To ensure you get the most out of your work experience, our dedicated team will help you find the right work placement that supports your course and your career ambitions.
You’ll be assigned a dedicated Work Placement Co-ordinator who will visit you and provide support throughout the whole process. You will also be provided with a travel card to ensure you can get to work each day.

Meet Tina Lucas – our Work Placement Co-ordiantor at MC6
Tina helps students at MC6 get their first taste of the working world through work placements. She teams up with local employers to find great placements, attends events to make connections, and supports students every step of the way.
Tina knows these opportunities are important for building skills and figuring out future plans, and she encourages all students to take advantage of them.

When you sign up to study with us, you will receive more than your qualification. You will also receive support for every aspect of your college life, work and any individual needs you may have.
