Student Perks
Travelling to MC6
Travelling to and from College shouldn’t be an issue, which is why we‘ve teamed up with the area’s biggest travel operators to offer students FREE* weekday bus travel up to 7pm and REIMBURSED weekday train travel to and from Middlesbrough College.
During enrolment, each student will be given an ID card which will act as their travel pass and can be used on weekdays up to 7pm during term time.
Bus Travel:
MC6 students have access to:
Stagecoach and Arriva – free or discounted weekday bus travel up to 7pm to and from Middlesbrough College
Shuttle bus – a free bus service, RP1, from Middlesbrough Bus Station to the campus
Dedicated Bus Service – we run bus services from the surrounding area, including Ingleby Barwick, Easington, Great Ayton, and Saltburn
Train Travel:
MC6 students can get reimbursed train fare from local stations. You will need a 16-17 Saver Rail Card, which saves you 50% of your train fare, and we will reimburse you the remaining 50% when you hand in your ticket to our Student Services team.
Reimbursed train travel from: Darlington North Road, Darlington Bank Top, Dinsdale, Allens West, Eaglescliffe, Hartlepool, Seaton Carew, Seaham, Thirsk, Northallerton, Yarm, Thornaby and Stockton.
By Bike or Car:
We have onsite cycle parking and student car park available on our campus. Car drivers will require a permit, purchased from our Help Centre.
MC Click Laptop Scheme
Whilst many students choose to bring their own device to college, our laptop loan scheme, MC Click, is designed to support those eligible students that are without a personal device.
Eligible students can apply for a MC Click laptop to support their studies. There is a one-off configuration and maintenance fee of £50. This fee will be covered by the college bursary for eligible students.

£5 Printing Credit
Most students are known to spend a fair amount of time stood at the printer. We give all our learners a head start with £5 printing credit; top-ups can be paid in the LRC!
