How to apply to TTE
Planning ahead and applying early is the key to getting your first choice of course and setting yourself on the path to a successful career in engineering. Simply follow our six simple steps!
Step 1: Be Application Ready
Before you start the application process, it’s important you have:
- A personal email address (not your school email)
- WhatsApp installed on your phone (for application updates)
This is so our Admissions team can contact you with any updates about your application, making you aware of any key events and news you need to be aware of.
Step 2: Apply
Visit mbro.ac.uk or tte.co.uk, find your course, and click Apply Now.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible – preferably before Christmas 2025. This is because some of our engineering courses are extremely popular, with spaces filling up fast!
Our most competitive courses are:
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrumentation & Control courses
If you want to study one of these courses, your application must be submitted no later than 26th January 2026 to be considered in the main recruitment process. If you apply after this point, you may be contacted about a waitlist.
Step 3: Attend a Showcase Event
After applying you’ll be invited to a Showcase Event. This is your chance to:
- Meet tutors and ask questions
- Explore our facilities
- Confirm that the course is right for you
If you have applied to study Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation & Control courses, you will also be required to complete an aptitude test. Conditional offers are made based on your test scores and predicted GCSE results.
Step 4: Conditional Offer
If you are successful, you’ll get a conditional offer via email and post. This is subject to your GCSE results.
Conditional offers for Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation & Control courses will be issued by the end of February 2026.
Step 5: Accept Your Conditional Offer
You can accept your conditional offer at your Showcase Event, by phone, or via email. It’s essential to accept to secure your conditional place!
Step 6: Enrolment – Secure your place!
Enrolment begins from GCSE results day in August. You’ll be allocated a specific date and time to attend.
This is when your place is officially confirmed. It’s important to note that no one’s place is guaranteed until they have officially enrolled at TTE during enrolment.
- Enrolment dates are 20th – 28th August 2026
- Missing your appointment may affect your ability to start your first-choice course.

When to apply to TTE?
The earlier you apply, the better – especially for popular courses like Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Instrumentation & Control. To be considered as part of the main recruitment process, applications for these courses must be submitted by 26th January 2026.
Even if your course isn’t one of the high-demand programmes, it’s a good idea to apply as soon as possible to secure your place and avoid disappointment. Starting your application early also gives you plenty of time to prepare for your Showcase Event and any aptitude tests, so you can feel confident every step of the way.
Remember: planning ahead is the key to making sure you get the course and pathway that’s right for you!
