BTEC National Extended Diploma in Applied Science – Level 3

Course overview
Our Applied Science course offers a practical insight into key concepts across all science areas. It is equivalent to 3 A Levels, which means it cannot be studied alongside other A Level subjects.
You’ll study a variety of topics and modules, which may include laboratory techniques, diseases and infections, biomedical science, the physiology of human body systems, and forensic evidence, collection and analysis.
There are approximately 5.8 million people employed in applied science occupations in the UK. This equates to approximately 20% of the workforce. The applied science sector is diverse and wide-ranging, including, for example, biomedical, forensic, physical and chemical sciences.
Explore A Levels
A Level students will be based in MC6, a modern, vibrant environment which promotes independent learning and study. The centre bridges the gap between school and university, with specialist classrooms and laboratories and open plan study and social spaces.
