Middlesbrough College announces new partnership with actor Craig Conway
North East born star Craig Conway is set to help the talent of the future achieve their performing dreams, thanks to his new partnership with Middlesbrough College.
Craig Conway has an incredibly impressive CV and has appeared in several stage plays, television series and films including Our Friends in the North, Vera, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday and The Descent. Now, the actor is gearing up for his next role with Middlesbrough College and is ready to help nurture young performers for their careers.
The College’s new partnership will see Craig work with students in Performing Arts, Creative Media and Film and Stage Management and Operations. Students will benefit from Craig’s acting masterclasses, audition workshops, confidence building sessions, classes in acting for film, producing short film masterclasses, professional feedback and more.
Craig said: “Drama was a complete escape for me, and I knew that performing was what I wanted to do. I got my first big break starring alongside Daniel Craig in ‘Our Friends in the North’ and then moved to London to pursue my acting career. I’ve been fortunate to star in a range of theatre shows, television programmes and films and work with some big names in the industry. I’ve also produced and wrote short films too, so I have a breadth of experience across the sector.
“I’ve always believed in giving back to the creative industry and supporting rising talent, so I’m delighted to be able to offer a variety of exciting workshops for the students at Middlesbrough College. I visited the College to give a talk to the students and was very impressed with the staff, students, facilities and atmosphere. Middlesbrough College is getting it right and I’m excited to be part of this dynamic community.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and meeting the students. There are so many fantastic opportunities that are happening in the Performing Arts sector, and I want to help the students at Middlesbrough College thrive in the industry.”
Anne-Marie Chiswell, The Associate Director for Computing, Visual and Performing Arts said: “We’re so excited to be working with Craig and building stronger links with the Performing Arts industry. Craig’s passion is inspiring the next generation of local talent to come through and this is an amazing opportunity for our students who will be working closely with him.”
