Overview

The Level 3 ILM Diploma in the Principles and Leadership of Management aims to give team leaders and potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role.

The qualification does this by developing basic team leadership skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level.

Mondays, weekly 10.00 am - 3.00 pm.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 2 vocational qualification and /or five GCSEs at grade 4/5 (C) or above.

If you have a grade 3 (D) or below in GCSE English and/or maths you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your study programme.

Students will be taught by lectures, seminars, discussion groups, case studies, presentations and self study.

Assessment will be a mixture of assignments, presentations and reviews.

Students who enrol on to the programme under the apprenticeship framework will also be required to undertake examinations in functional skills at Level 2 in English, mathematics and ICT.

This qualification will provide progression opportunities to other qualifications such as the ILM Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Management, ILM Level 4 Diploma in the Principles of Leadership & Management, ILM Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership Management.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course. 

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.  Many people qualify for free tuition fees, for more information please contact Course Information on 01642 333333.

Advanced Learner Loan: If you are aged 19-23 and this is not your first full Level 3 qualification or you are aged 24 or over on the start date of the course, you will have to pay fees. However, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to fund all or part of the fee. For information on Advanced Learning Loans go to www.gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans/.

Please click the apply now button at the top of this page which will take you to an application form to apply for A Levels, or you can download a full time course application here and print it out, complete the form and send it to the College. You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
