The study of English Language probes these questions and many more, exploring the link between the language we use and the culture we live in, past, present and future.
This course offers you with the opportunity to engage critically and creatively with a wide range of texts and discourses. The course explores the study of English Language beyond the page, both as a medium of communication and a way of explaining our world and the representations within it. The study of language as a symbolic system used to assert power in our society has never been more prevalent of a topic. You will be encouraged to pursue lines of enquiry, debate a variety of views, and to hone your independent working and research skills, all while learning about yourself along the way.
