Overview

This course is designed to provide an enhanced learning programme to meet the future needs of the modern vehicle technician and master technician. You will develop the necessary knowledge and understanding required of diagnostic and repair technicians through studying vehicle electrical electronics, vehicle mathematics and science, the automotive environment and knowledge of routine light vehicle maintenance.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 1 vocational qualification and /or GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above.

You will be assessed through online tests, workshop activities and set assignments.

You can progress onto the IMI Diploma, Level 3 Extended Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (QCF).

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Here, they will gain practical skills in a wide variety of vehicles using up-to-date equipment and diagnostic tools and develop theoretical knowledge using custom built training rigs and interactive resources.
