It is more important than ever that you have access to a computer or laptop at home to support you with your studies.

If you have access to a portable device at home, it would be helpful if you were able to bring this into College on your days’ onsite as this will reduce the contact that you have with shared equipment and our associated COVID cleaning regimes. 

If you do not have access to a laptop at home we have a number of options available for you to consider:   

For full time 16-18 students, HE students and full time Access to HE students:

  • We have developed a new assisted purchase scheme, whereby you can choose from one of our 3 recommended device types and set up a payment of 10 equal instalments, either by monthly payment plan or by deduction from the College bursary (eligible students only).

All payment plans include insurance, and a basic help desk service will also be available through the College to help with any technical issues or training needs you may have. 

If you do not have your own device, and the schemes above are not affordable for you – please speak to our student services team as we have a limited supply of loan laptops, which we will prioritise based on need.

All Middlesbrough College students will have free use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams etc.) on their own computer while they remain enrolled.

Students interested in taking part in the scheme will be able to complete a form after our enrolment period, or apply online using the electronic form available on the link below, or by using the below QR code. 

Although you may apply before enrolment the application will not be processed until you have enrolled. 

Please ensure you view the options available in our booklet before you commence the form so you are clear which device you would like to order.

Once your application has been approved, you will be notified by email that the device is ready to collect from the Service Desk.
