Digital Technologies – Level 2

Modules offered may vary.

Modules include:

• Set up and configure technology systems
• Exploring current and emerging technologies
• Security protection and risk management
• IT service solutions
• Digital applications development
• Organisational uses for digital media systems

September – June

An appropriate Level 1 vocational qualification and/or GCSEs grade 3 (D) or above in particular English.

You will be assessed through 2 core exams and internal assignements.

Achieving this qualification will give learners an advantage when applying for a job in IT. The types of jobs they will be ready for are:

• Junior developer
• Content coordinator
• Trainee mobile developer

The qualification gives learners a sound basis to progress to a Level 3 qualification, when studied in a full study programme.

You can also progress to university for further study or an apprenticeship.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

All full-time students will be offered a number of options to secure at least 10 days of meaningful work experience during the year. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at university.
