Come prepared
We know that choosing a College and a course isn’t an easy task, so we would encourage you to have a think beforehand about which courses or areas of the College you want to visit the most, because you will not be able to fit everything into 2.5 hours! Make a list and prioritise the places you really want to see or the departments you really want to speak to so that you don’t miss out.
Explore the £120m campus
There’s so much to see here at Middlesbrough College and we have some fantastic facilities, so you should definitely make time in your day to walk around the campus.
If you are interested in a sport course or sport as an enrichment activity you should check out our sports facilities, which include a 3G Astroturf pitch, a multi-use games area and a physiology lab. Or if you are more interested in engineering then our £20m STEM training centre is the place for you.
And don’t worry you won’t get lost because we’ll provide you with a map upon arrival!
Speak to the Careers Team
If you’re not sure which course you want to do, don’t worry! Take the time to speak to the Careers Team who can help you find out what careers and courses your skillset would suit. Our Careers Team are fully qualified and can provide free, high-quality advice and guidance, so don’t hesitate to pop in for a chat!
Ask lots of questions
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and ask lots of questions. Our Open Events are an opportunity to provide our potential students with as much information as possible about the college and staff are happy to help you with your queries.
Apply to secure your place
At our event you’ll be given a goody bag upon arrival with a prospectus and application form in. We would encourage you to apply for your chosen course on the night to secure your place with us. Places are already filling up fast for September 2023 and we don’t want you to be disappointed! Please complete the paper application and hand it in to a member of staff at the event, or complete an online application when you get back home. You can apply for more than one course and make your decision about your studies at your enrolment appointment in August.
