Helen Spencer-Crabb
Health & Care Administrator

"I’m 45 and grew up in Normanby, Middlesbrough, however I have lived in the Stokesley area for the last 26 years.

"I started working at the College in late 2003, working as receptionist at Marton and before joining the Registry Team. It's hard to believe that was almost 18 years ago!

"Within two to three years I was Data Controller and moved to the College's Longlands campus, followed by a year at Acklam - the College then moved to the current Middlehaven base and I have been here ever since!

"When data was moved inter-department around eight years ago, I was moved to my current Administrator role within the Health and Care team, which now incorporates business and education.

"The best part of my role is meeting and interacting with students, I enjoy building a rapport with them and seeing them progress.

"I have done lots of fundraising over the years after my niece was born with a congenital heart condition. I had my head shaved down on the College street, where I raised over £1500 for the charity CHUF.

"I held a fundraising charity night that was well supported with colleagues – working across several sites I got to know many of the College staff which helped a lot with my fundraising!

"A few years ago the Health and Care Team joined me in running on the treadmill for 82 miles - we smashed that whilst raising lots more money.

"I have raised over £3500 over the years for the charity and Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Sadly my niece lost her fight 3 years ago and I’ve not done any fundraising since then.

"The College is a great place to work, with fantastic colleagues and a lovely community spirit.

"I live with my wife of 5 years and 2 adopted children, and since getting our puppy, Bertie during lockdown we enjoy taking him on walks on the beach, or out in the country on a weekend!
