“My main goal in returning to education was to become a dietitian in the NHS. Now I am a registered dietitian at a local trust. I went on from the access course to gain a first class honours BSc in Food and Nutrition followed by a MSc with distinction in Dietetics which I have recently completed.”

“I always aspired to be a dietitian and now that I am I feel like there is still so much to learn in my new role. As a recently registered dietitian I hope to develop further and become a specialist dietitian after I have had more experience. I’m not quite sure which area I’d be most interested in specialising in yet as there are so many interesting fields that dietitians can work in.”

“It was a challenging course but I loved how it helped me to develop my knowledge in science and I was pleasantly surprised to learn I was quite good at it. Lots of support from staff too who really wanted you to succeed.”

“I loved my time at Middlesbrough College! The teaching was fantastic and really set me up very well for my degree at university. It was challenging but a great learning experience. “

“It was a brilliant environment to learn in. I made some great friends from my course that have gone on to study different science degrees to pursue different careers.”

“It really gave me a head start at university and I felt like I’d hit the ground running. The learning environment was also great, I loved the library and staff in there were really helpful too.”

“I did really well in all my modules at university from day one. The breadth of topics we covered was excellent and so relevant to my biochemistry and microbiology modules. Learning how to reference properly was also really important!”
