EV2.1: Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities

• Introduction to Electric/Hybrid Vehicles: Understand the basic principles and components of electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Safety Procedures: Learn the necessary safety protocols to follow when working with high-voltage systems.
• Routine Maintenance: Gain skills in performing routine maintenance tasks specific to electric and hybrid vehicles, such as checking and replacing fluids, filters, and other components.

EV2.2: Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement And EV3: Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement

• Advanced Safety Measures: Deepen your understanding of safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and insulated tools.
• System Diagnostics: Learn how to diagnose issues in electric and hybrid vehicle systems using specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Component Replacement: Develop skills in removing and replacing high-voltage components, such as batteries and electric motors, ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.

IMI Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling – F-Gas
The IMI award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling provides the necessary training to meet DEFRA guidelines for automotive air conditioning. It targets anyone managing refrigerants, including mobile mechanics, garages, body shops, main dealers, and dismantlers.

Upon completion, technicians receive a certificate to recover F-gas in compliance with regulations. This DEFRA-approved qualification ensures MAC technicians meet the minimum F-gas requirements (EC842/2006 and annex EC307/2008).

Learners will study Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6pm – 9pm.

Learners must hold English language and maths at grade 4 or above or equivalent. The course is aimed at those who have knowledge of the automotive industry.

Learners will be assessed through an online and practical assessments.

Learners will be required to wear appropriate PPE (safety boots, overalls and safety glasses).

Full funding available for unemployed candidates.

70% – 90% of funding available for candidates currently employed (dependent on company size, and must be earning less than £33,210).
