Technical Certificate in Makeup Artistry – Level 2

Modules offered may vary.

Modules will include:

• Principles of Working in the Media Make-Up Industry
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Principles of Researching, Developing and Showcasing Designs
• The Art of Applying Make-Up
• Hair Artistry
• Creative Make-Up Artistry

September – June

You must have achieved four GCSEs at a grade 4 (C) or above including maths and English.

You will be assessed through one externally set, externally moderated assignment and one externally set, externally marked exam, sat under examination conditions.

You can progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Media Makeup Artistry course.

You are required to purchase a uniform and a kit. Information about purchasing will be provided during enrolment.

• Uniform consists of a black t shirt with Hair and Media Makeup Artist on the back.
• An options of a hoodie is available
• Black leggings or trousers
• All black shoes to be worn

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

It is mandatory for students to complete meaningful work experience during the course. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at university. Students previously have found work placements within salons, theatre, music videos and fashion.
