The purpose of this of this course is for you to learn about and undertake fundamental plumbing work. You will have the opportunity to plan, perform and evaluate your work whilst using a range of materials, methods and techniques. You will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills of fundamental Health & Safety practices associated with carrying out plumbing work. You will learn about plumbing tools and equipment, pipework materials, installation methods and jointing processes, plumbing systems and their purpose, plumbing science and the principles of measurement and marking out components and pipework.
The Building Services component focuses on your knowledge and understanding of contexts, concepts, theories and principles relevant to on-site construction and Building Services Engineering (BSE). The component is designed to raise your awareness of the industries and develop your knowledge. Whilst on your employer led work placement, you will be completing an employer set project, which a key essential part of the overall qualification.
