T Level – Science – Level 3

Modules will include:

• Working within the science sector
• Managing information and data within the science sector
• Best scientific practice
• Experimental equipment and techniques
• The use of technology and electronics in measurement and diagnostics
• Core scientific knowledge such as cellular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, electricity and the use of radioisotopes
• An employer-set project, which involves problem solving, working with others, researching, communication and project management

Pathway core components (Laboratory or Food Science) will also be included.

September – June

You must have five GCSEs at grade 5 (C) or above (including English language and mathematics).

T Levels are assessed through external examinations and an employer-set project. The employer-set project relates to 7 core skills and behaviours, which will be acquired throughout the duration of the qualification.

Learners will also need to complete externally set assignments and a 45 day work placement which has a series of targets to achieve.

University opportunities

Students can progress onto a range of science-based courses, including chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, biomedical science, biological science.

Career opportunities

The skills and knowledge acquired on this course would allow for movement onto a degree apprenticeship or into a junior role in a range of science careers, including laboratory scientist, chemical analyst, research and development scientist.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

Every T Level student will take an industry placement lasting for 45 days, helping you to gain valuable experience in the workplace and allowing employers to meet the new talent in their industry.
