NCFE Level 4 Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges

Course overview
This Level 4 Advanced Practitioner course aims to support current teaching assistants and learning support staff to achieve advanced practitioner status (HLTA). The qualification aims to provide professional development opportunities for current practitioner working within schools and colleges.
The qualification will embrace the wealth and experience, proven knowledge, and skills of the learner in a teaching and learning environment. It will challenge the learner in both daily practice and theoretical understanding. Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership and mentoring, coaching and refection as you progress through the qualification through work-based learning opportunities. Upon achievement of this qualification, you will be equipped as an Advanced Practitioner (HLTA).
The knowledge, understanding, skills and competencies will the learner develop?
The content of the qualifications is based on the teaching assistants’ standards for learning support practitioners and theoretical perspectives.
This course does not give HLTA status and learners will also have to complete time working in an advanced practitioner to apply for this status.
Childcare & Early Years
Childcare students will be based in our multi-million pound campus, with specialist classrooms and equipment such as cyber babies and early years resources. Completing a work placement is a crucial element of our childcare courses as it means you can apply classroom learning in a real work environment.
