There will be no scheduled lessons on Wednesday 29th November for full-time 16-18 year old students due to a staff CPD day. A Level students will be in college as normal.
This programme has been developed to provide learners to become Early Years Educators,
enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. The course will develop the learner’s knowledge of legislation, guidance, policies and procedures and how these are promoted in the setting to keep children healthy, safe, and secure as well as making sure that the learning environment is inclusive to all babies and young children. The learners will research in depth how children develop, the transitions they may face and the importance of play and leisure within the learning environment.
Learners will also develop the knowledge of how to support positive behaviour, effectively communicate and develop relationships with children and adults, how to promote an effective learning environment.
Childcare & Early Years
Childcare students will be based in our multi-million pound campus, with specialist classrooms and equipment such as cyber babies and early years resources.
