Digital Technologies – Level 2

Modules offered may vary.

Modules include:

• Set up and configure technology systems
• Exploring current and emerging technologies
• Security protection and risk management
• IT service solutions
• Digital applications development
• Organisational uses for digital media systems

September – June

An appropriate Level 1 vocational qualification and/or GCSEs grade 3 (D) or above.

You will be assessed through 2 core exams and internal assignements.

Achieving this qualification will give learners an advantage when applying for a job in IT. The types of jobs they will be ready for are:

• Junior developer
• Content coordinator
• Trainee mobile developer

The qualification gives learners a sound basis to progress to a Level 3 qualification, when studied in a full study programme.

Students should complete meaningful work experience during the course. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at university.
