Tania Green

Lecturer of A Level Law and Criminology

Tania studied for a LLB Law degree at university and found the subject incredibly interesting, so she decided to go into teaching. After starting a family, Tania enrolled at Middlesbrough College on to the part time PGCE course.

Tania said “I would definitely recommend studying for a PGCE at Middlesbrough College. The College is fantastic and helped me to sort a placement straight away in their sixth form. My tutors Richard and Diane were amazing and supported me every step of the way. I must also mention my learning mentor Bernadette who is now a colleague of mine- I couldn’t have done it without her guidance.

“The course has helped me to become a confident and inspirational teacher. The lessons are a good mix of teaching theories and practical based learning.

“If you love the subject you studied at university then I would 100% recommend you consider teaching. It’s great teaching sixth form level students too as they are independent and have a genuine interest in the subject your teaching. It’s also so exciting to see them progress to the next level and to know you played a part in helping them to succeed.”

Tania is now a qualified teacher and impressed Middlesbrough College so much during her voluntary placement that she was offered a full time position. She now teaches on two of the most popular A Level subjects offered at Middlesbrough College Sixth Form, A Level Law and Criminology.

Tania said “I absolutely love my job and I love working at Middlesbrough College. I had only been working here for 2 minutes and it already felt like I had been working here forever. The staff here are so lovely and very approachable. It is such a welcoming environment and it honestly doesn’t even feel like work.”

Tania is also hoping to help launch the brand new LLB Law degree programme that is coming soon and will be offered at Middlesbrough College.

She said “It is very exciting to be working on the new Law degree programme that will be offered here next September. At the moment we are planning and developing the course so watch this space! It will be fantastic to offer a degree where students can progress to the next level and I can’t wait to get started.”
