Payroll Manager

“I started my career as an Accounts Assistant at a construction company where I oversaw the payroll.

It was then that I got engrossed in the tax side of things, so I decided to make the career move and I joined the Payroll Team at the company. 

Fast forward to when I was 21, and I moved to London to gain further experience with different organisations and sectors.

I worked in contract positions for almost 9 years, and have experience in local government, hospitals, law firms, theatre and software companies.

I have now worked in payroll for 17 years across the UK, both office based and on the road where I’ve assisted clients as a Software Consultant.

One particular career highlight was a trip to Sweden for an intensive course with Firebrand. This gave me the knowledge and skills to build payroll software, along with the understanding of implementation. This helped my career drive forward and moved me in the right direction.

I am now ready for my new challenge as the Payroll Manager for Middlesbrough College, where I will be focused on delivering an effective and efficient payroll service. It is a fantastic opportunity and I’m looking forward to the exciting new challenges that will be happening in the near future!

I’m loving my time working at the College – everyone is so friendly and welcoming and it’s great to be part of one big family!

In my spare time I like to exercise and spend time with my family and friends. I have a strong passion for cooking and experimenting with my culinary skills.

I also enjoy travelling and walking my two dogs!”
