Darryl Johnson
“I’m currently studying the Supported Internship programme with Middlesbrough College. My placements are with CVFM Radio and I love it! I present a weekly show on a Friday which involves playing music. To do this I have to research facts about specific songs and help to tidy the studio when finished.
“I’ve really enjoyed working at CVFM Radio, the programme has been a brilliant way to build my skills and to get work experience.
“I would recommend studying at Middlesbrough College, the staff are always willing to help and are very supportive.
“I have enjoyed the challenge of working outside of College and being able to fulfil my dream of working in the music industry.”
Idrees Rashid, The Station Manager of CVFM Radio said: “Darryl has approached the opportunity with lots of enthusiasm, eager to learn new skills and start broadcasting his own radio show.
“Darryl is a confident student who thrives on new challenges and is a natural performer who loves being in from of a microphone and an audience.
“CVFM Radio is Middlesbrough’s only licensed community radio station offering a range of programmes catering for our diverse listener base. Darryl has been shadowing a senior presenter to get studio and on air experience. Having been through our training programme he has recently started his own music based weekly radio show which is put a lot of time and effort into.
“This has been a positive experience for Darryl and for CVFM Radio too.”
