Damon Hill
We caught up with our new student enrichment officer, Damon Hill!
Damon completed an Extended Diploma in Sport at College and then went on to studying Sport and Exercise Science at Teesside University!
Previously, Damon worked in Middlesbrough College as a sport technician as he wanted to start off in a role that was more relevant to his degree.
“I knew that working in the College would provide me with pathways that I could work towards. I interviewed for the student enrichment officer as I wanted a position that involved lots of interaction with people! I was thrilled when I found out I got the job, it’s a great opportunity to work with students and give something back whilst supporting activities I enjoy doing.”
When we asked Damon what encouraged him to work within the College, he told us, “I had a determination to support and encourage student welfare as it was something I found to be limited through my time at College. I believe enrichment can make a strong impact on students and their education. I also have been able to see how rewarding it is to be a part of positive College experiences and can’t wait to get stuck into it properly in August!”
Damon also told us, “Starting this new path, I aim to take everything that has been successful with our students and develop it further to make it even better! Me and the team are going to keep improving the regimes as much as we can so that enrichment is open to as many students as possible.”
“Middlesbrough College is the best environment I’ve worked in yet; the staff are amazing! It makes the biggest difference having colleagues who are understanding and relatable with bigger demands, it helps make any sort of hard work a lot easier!”
