Overview

Film & Media Production route-
This course will provide you with a solid understanding of the media sector and offers a wide range of practical skills workshops to reflect the range of employment opportunities available in and around the media industry. Our practical course allows you to develop technical skills within the Film and Media sector for the first part of the year; students will then apply those skills to a project of their choice.

Technical skills will include filming, photography, editing and sound plus the opportunity to learn Visual Effects for the TV and film industry.

Alongside this you will be taught creative project management, planning and pitching your ideas which are vital transferable skills in a wide range of careers.

This course is designed for students who enjoy practical assessments and working on their own creative ideas.


Journalism with Film route-
This course will provide you with a solid understanding of journalism and offers a wide range of practical skills workshops to reflect the range of employment opportunities available in and around the industry. Our course allows you to develop practical and technical skills within the Journalism sector for the first part of the year; students will then apply those skills to a project of their choice.

Skills will include writing for print, narrative and storytelling and persuasive writing. You will also learn filming, photography and editing which are vital technical skills for jobs such as Journalists, News and Sport Reporters and Vloggers.


Alongside this you will be taught creative project management, planning and pitching your ideas which are vital transferable skills in a wide range of careers.

This course is designed for students who enjoy practical assessments and working on their own creative ideas.

Entry requirements

Internal progression from a Level 2 Creative Media qualification or you must have achieved four GCSEs at grade 4/5 (C) or above which must include English or maths.

Media Technical Diploma (Film and Media Production) Our practical course allows you to develop technical skills within the Film and Media sector for the first part of the year; students will then apply those skills to a project of their choice.
